Last weekend we were fortunate to capture the San Juan Mountains wildflowers at their peak at several locations.  To make it even better, we ran into a beautiful Bighorn Sheep who cooperated very well having his picture taken. It was a weekend to remember!

I added five new pictures to my gallery if you are interested. Thanks for viewing my site and hope you are having a great summer capturing God’s beautiful creation!

The wildflowers are the best I’ve ever seen in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado.  They are peaking below 11,000′ and are still coming out above 12,000′. The weather calls for clear skies the next week which takes out the sunset but at least I won’t get struck by lighting or hailed on.

I hope all of you are enjoying the wildflower season!
Thanks for viewing this!

Alpine Delight

I can’t think of a better place to be right now than up at 12,500′ in a remote alpine environment of the beautiful San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado.

It is refreshingly lush everywhere we travel this summer. The weather is a bit tricky this year as the rains are frequent so it is easy to get stuck out there in a lightning storm as I did just before this shot. In a matter of 15 minutes I saw a torrential downpour to a full rainbow that only lasted 20 seconds to dark clouds again.

I just can’t get enough of this and find myself thinking about it day and night. Nature is really reaching out to us this summer and I plan on taking full advantage of it!
