Finally, the wildflowers are starting to come out in the high Alpine…

More impressive and even shocking was the amount of damage causes by all the snowslides this winter… Some forested areas literally looked like a volcano errupted leveling many section of forest leaving behind large fir and aspen trees snapped at their base…. I have never seen anything like it….

Due to the unusually heavy snowfall this winter and cool spring and summer the wildflowers are behind this year… Just recently, I was able to finally find a small patch at the 12.5k elevation.

It should be another three weeks before the wildflowers reach there peak…

With all the snow still up in the high country, The mid Level Lupines are saving the day as the Alpine wildflowers have yet to come out this year…

I’ve never seen so much snow and the season so far behind on the 4th of July…
