Animas River Fall Sunset Reflections

Fall Colors are quickly fading here in Southwest Colorado but I was able to capture one more shot outside of Durango, CO along the beautiful Animas River Valley.

The Animas River has taken a beating from a record drought and all the debris runoff from the 416 fire but today on this shot, the river showed its brilliance and hope for a better tomorrow…

Signs of Spring – San Juan Mountains

It’s been a record breaking dry Winter but nature goes on with a touch of green grass coming up providing these Elk with a nutritious treat as they wait in the lower elevations to give birth to their calves in early May.

Solar Eclipse 2017

This was the perspective from my vantage point high up in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. It clouded up during the peak but fortunately a little hole opening up in the heavens and showcased the crescent sun barely visible seen in the upper center section of the photo. The darkness in the middle of the day was like nothing I had ever experienced. Totally different then just an overcast day. You could tell something unique was occurring… This photo was shot during the peak of the eclipse.
