Picture Lake with Mt. Shuskan – Sunrise, Daytime, Sunset…

It is amazing how the same place can look so different depending on the time of day… Picture Lake located in Washington State in Mt. Baker National Forest is the perfect example of this…

It is simply an awe inspiring location any time of day but for me, first and last light are the most exceptional… especially when you add in the Belt of Venus,  some fresh snow, and Fall colors mixed in! This place is unmatched in beauty…

Grandeur in the Grenadiers

Towards the beginning of the wildflower season in the early summer months, The snow was still heavy in the alpine regions of the Grenadier Mountains of Southwest Colorado.  This particular type of violet wildflower usually comes up early and needs plenty of water to flourish. A large patch of melting snow was feeding this wildflower patch with icy cold water.

As the summer has progressed, the snow has once again receded with a few patches left and the wildflowers are starting to fade away once again. The cycle of life continues as some signs of fall are already starting to show up.  This only means a new beautiful season to come, one of my favorites here in the beautiful San Juan Mountains…

Thank you for viewing my site and wishing you all the best summer season!

Lone Elk Needles Sunset

Spring is here with the snow quickly  receding leaving behind beautiful lush green grass for the Elk and other animals to feast on.  This is definitely Elk heaven this time of year.

I was fortunate to catch her with such a dramatic backdrop…

I caught up to another herd on a different evening feeding and just laying around in the brightest green grass I’ve ever witnessed. Refreshing!
